From the American classic Seinfeld used to pick up the President to the definitive James Bond car.
Jerry Seinfeld’s internet smash-hit, “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” is not only a tremendous way to see some of the funniest people in the world shoot from the hip, it’s also a pretty great way to scope out some incredible classic cars.
Each episode of this series begins with famous comedian/gearhead, Jerry Seinfeld, breaking down the car that he is about to pick up his comedian friend in. Sometimes he correlates the personality of the star with the unique design of the car, and (with all due respects to the comedians) these cars sometimes remain the true star throughout the episode.
That’s especially true of these few incredible cars that managed to outshine even their famous drivers.
1963 Corvette Stingray
You can’t pick up the President Of The United States in just any vehicle, which is why Seinfeld decided to roll up to the White House for his coffee appointment with Barack Obama in a true American classic.
According to Reggie’s Garage, Chevy has gone on to make a series of technical improvements to the Corvette line. And while they may have improved its overall performance, so far as looks go, they never made a more beautiful car.
1964 Aston Martin DB5
On his way to pick up fellow Seinfeld star Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jerry Seinfeld pulled out all the stops by rolling up in the definitive James Bond car; the 1964 Aston Martin DB5.
Aston Martin may have a reputation for delivering some of the most stunningly good looking cars ever designed, but the DB5 is in a class of its own. No other car in the Aston line has the DB5’s unique combination of strong body, sleek curves, and pure performance.
1970 Plymouth Superbird
When you’re taking a ride with over-the-top classic American comedian Will Ferrell, you need an over-the-top classic American car. The 1970 Plymouth Superbird fit that description perfectly.
The Superbird was a little too crazy of a design to become a hit in 1970, but it has since gone on to perfectly capture the design spirit of American muscle cars during this era.
1976 Lamborghini Countach
If you’re a famous comedian like Jim Carrey, it’s hard to walk around without turning heads. That’s especially true if you so happen to be riding around in one of the definitive Lamborghini models.
The 1976 Countach looks like a bullet from its side, and moves like one too. Slightly slimmer than other Lamborghini models, the Countach strikes that perfect balance between sublime and ridiculous.
