⏲ Saturday May 28 and Sunday May 29, 10:00 to 18:00
In this two day intensive course, organized in partnership with ShortCourses@NFTS, BAFTA-winning sound editor Eddy Joseph guides a small group of students through the specific, practical lessons he’s learned over his four-decade career. Using clips from his own diverse body of sound editing work including such films such as Casino Royale, Evita, and Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Joseph will explain the creative and practical solutions he’s found over the years and will show the students how to apply these solutions to their own work. This course will be highly interactive, with lively discussions that will continue into the evenings as Eddy Joseph joins the students for a complimentary drink at the pub at the end of each day.
*UPDATE* Acclaimed sound designer Paul Davies will be giving a guest lecture at the end of day one entitled “Subjective Sound in We Need To Talk About Kevin and ‘71“.
This course is ideal for sound professionals who want to take their craft to the next level, as well as for directors, producers, editors, and any others who want to better understand this essential part of cinematic storytelling.
